Handcrafted Spoons

Each spoon is hand carved from green wood with only an axe and knives (ok I use a handsaw too sometimes). If you would like to commission a spoon to be made just send us an email. To purchase a spoon, please visit our shop.

Hand tools only! This tree had fallen over at a nearby school, they allowed me to come and cut it up to take away for spoon carving.
Kolrosing is the Scandinavian tradition of incising thin decorative lines and patterns in carved wood and filling with dark powders (charcoal, coal dust, coffee grounds, graphite, ground bark) or colored wax, etc. for contrast. Kohlrosing dates back to at least Viking times.
